March 3, 2010 - Cypress, CA - Diamond is proud to take on the title sponsorship of the National Classic High School Baseball Tournament this year, signing a four year deal through 2013.  The Diamond Sports National Classic will start Saturday April 3rd, with a Home Run Derby at El Dorado HS in Placentia starting at 3 PM.

The Diamond Sports National Classic is a high school baseball tournament that delivers some of the best talents at the varsity high school level to one tournament.  Some of the famous MLB players that have played in the National Classic are Alex Rodriguez, Pat Burrell, and Doug Mientkiewicz.

Diamond Sports has had a long relationship with the National Classic, being the Official Ball for over 12 years.

“Diamond has had a long commitment to the National Classic for over a decade and we felt it was the right time to help this great tournament continue its excellences in quality of players and product that are on the field,” said Dave Pherrin, Team Promotions Manger of Diamond Sports.  “This is where it’s at in terms of the best high school baseball being played around the nation and we are very happy to continue playing a big role in this tournament.”

The Diamond Sports National Classic schedule can be found at national-classic.com.  The first game is scheduled between Palm Desert and Edison at 10 AM at El Dorado HS.  The championship game will be played at Cal State Fullerton at 7 PM on April 8th.
